My HSA/FSA Administrator Isn't Listed on Crates

Quick Answer: Even if your admin isn't one of our 8 supported admins, Crates still works with them. You'll get your LMN from Crates, download it, make your purchase, and submit the LMN and itemized receipt to your admin's portal yourself. Our LMNs meet IRS requirements and work with any HSA/FSA admin.


Crates Works With All Admins

Crates can issue LMNs for any HSA/FSA admin. Whether your admin is a major national one or a small regional one, the documentation meets the same IRS standard.

The difference is in the reimbursement process:

  • Supported admins (8 total): HealthEquity, Fidelity, Optum, HSA Bank, Bank of America, WEX, Navia, and FSAFEDS — you can upload your itemized receipt to Crates and use one-click reimbursement directly from your Crates dashboard.

  • All other admins: You get your LMN from Crates, download it, and submit it along with your itemized receipt through your admin's own portal.

How to Submit When Your Admin Isn't Supported

Step 1: Get Your LMN Through Crates

Complete your health survey and receive your Letter of Medical Necessity as usual.

Step 2: Make Your Purchase

Buy your product wherever you normally would. Save the itemized receipt (showing product name, date, amount, and merchant).

Step 3: Download Your LMN

Download your LMN from your Crates dashboard.

Step 4: Submit Through Your Admin's Portal

Log into your admin's website or app and: 1. Find the "Submit a Claim" or "Request Reimbursement" section 2. Upload your itemized receipt from the retailer 3. Upload your Letter of Medical Necessity from Crates 4. Enter the amount and date 5. Submit

Step 5: Wait for Processing

Your admin will review and process the claim according to their standard timeline.

Tips for Non-Supported Admins
